Mens XL Long Sleeve Jersey for Sale $35
Giordana Solid Techno Jersey, Long Sleeve Men's XL White. brand new still in bag.
Thinking the sizes ran small I ordered 2 of these online last year. I wore one and thought I might be able to shrink it. No go, and its way too big on me, even when worn as a 2nd layer. However it is very warm when worn as a second layer under an outer jacket or even as an outer layer in warmer weather than we're currently experiencing. Asking $35, my cost last year.
Are fast recumbents/Bike Fridays allowed on the A SIGs?
My pal rides a Bacchetta Aero (the kind that won RAAM) very well up hills and very fast (as recumbents do) on the flat.
He said he'd like to do an A-SIG (one or the other) but wasn't sure if he'd be welcome because "you can't draft a recumbent that well."
I know they aren't allowed on the C-SIG. Would he be welcome?
Oh, while I'm at it, would my Bike Friday road bike be allowed on the A-19?
Since I no longer work for Bike Friday I can't use "I ride a bike for a living so gimme a break" as an excuse anymore :o)
Small wheels means we draft a lot closer (great for being pulled, not sure if it unnerves some), and perhaps gives very slightly less of a pull (or that's probably because I'm 5' nothing).

More Bike Lane Backlash--this time along Columbus Ave
A sign of the apocalypse?
So I was coming home from my ride this evening, and there was a small army of delivery guys out. (Super Bowl Sunday.) I was offering up frequent renditions of my Jewish atheist's version of a prayer to St. Jude, the patron saint of lost causes: "Hey buddy, you're going the wrong way."
Then one guy on an electric bike, about to turn into oncoming headlights on 54th St., made eye contact, smiled sheepishly, and instead continued on for another block down the avenue before turning into a street going the right way.
I was so gobsmacked I didn't even notice if he had livery on.
What the heck? Are they getting a crackdown from the boys in blue, too?
the 2011 SIGs
As the A-19 captain I've been receiving e-mails from prospective SIGlets regarding the upcoming SIGs. I've answered them to the best of my (limited) ability, but, that only gives MY take on things... So;
If you haven't signed up yet, if you're wondering, "can I complete a SIG series?"... "which one should I go out for?"... "do I HAVE to ride with George?"...
COME TO TUESDAY'S CLUB MEETING! The answers, provided by a plethora of SIG leaders from ALL 4 SIGs will give you the ability to make the right choice...
See you there...
George

Riccione
Has anybody ever done the Riccione cycling thing? If so, can you describe how it works? I get the impression that essentially you are staying at a chosen hotel and do all your rides with people just at that hotel (no mixing of rides with groups at other hotels); is that correct?
BIG Thank You!
I just want to give a big public shout out to Ellen, Jim, Eunice, Jennell and all the Web helpers who have put in countless hours and untold effort to make the new website workable and straighten out the membership renewals. It's greatly appreciated. I know you have more that you're working on - I don't know how you're doing this and having any other life.

"Trying to pry information about bike lanes out of Sadik-Khan's shop is this city's version of phoning North Korea to ask about atomic weaponry. Which is why so many people believe she's determined to shove this alternative mode of transportation down their throats.
It's not her way or the highway. It's her way and the highway.
To this point, Sadik-Khan has installed 500 miles of on-street bike lanes. Twenty of those miles are separated from traffic by concrete barriers and rows of parked cars. The rest are painted strips reserved for cycling.
Problem with log in
Every time I want to log in, I have to go through the "Forgot Your Password?" drill. I cannot just type in my existing password in the box in the banner at the top of the page. (If I do that, it doesn't "take" -- the screen flashes and reappears with the password box empty.) I have tried using both Firefox and Safari browsers, with the same result. The same thing happens when my wife tries to sign in using the same computer.
Any suggestions?
