67 Purdys, 77 Brewster, 95 Cold Spring miles (from Manhattan) A or B ride.

The author, "I think the best of my NYC based routes is Pound Ridge/Waccubac/Carmel/ Cold Spring. Classic A route to Bronxville/Mamaroneck. The stretch on 120A/Sherwood>Riversville>Porchuk etc > E Middle Patent >Pound Ridge > Waccubac  is the most spectacular tree shaded car free (ex 172) House and Garden tour around, with that spectacular finish into Cold Spring.  95mi with MNRR stations along the way."

Requires a MetroNorth return from Purdys, Croton Falls, Brewster or Cold Spring.

This ride cuts a wide swath through Westchester and Putnam counties, past elegant estates and horse farms. Few cars. Hardpack on Mianis River Rd. Very hilly up to Pound Ridge with more climbing after lunch. The most difficult climbing starts towards end of ride. 5 mile spectacular descent into Cold Spring to end ride.
