New Year's Eve Die Hards: Game on.
Roads a bit wet, but no significant chance of more rain (according to weather.com) so we'll ride.
9am at Eleanor. Everybody welcome--A B and C. We'll divide into letters and/or numbers.
Get on out.
Veloshines Bike Wipes to raffled off at our Jan.10th meeting!
Wouldn't it be great to throw out those old greasy bike rags? Now you can with Veloshines! These hypoallergenic and 100% biodegradable large moist towelettes make cleaning all surfaces of your bike (and yourself) easier far less messy. Use them and throw them away! Why not get out of the wind, "tuck in" and have dinner (the Shepherd's Pie is delicious) with us at the January 10th NYCC meeting? You might even win a free package of Veloshines, 20 free packages will be raffled off. If you are joining us for dinner, please let us know at [email protected]. I'm looking forward to seeing you at the meeting!
Vuelta de Puerto Rico
Hi, I'd like to know who from the NYCC is going this year- Bill and I are riding, leaving for San Juan on Wed 1/25. In Old San Juan we're staying at the Casablanca Hotel. Please post or email me your plans so that we can look for you.

Out of Bounds Calendar 2012
Everyone- I need your help in putting together an out of bounds calendar for 2012. I need either full listings of the rides, or links to the websites, so I can post the name, date, start location, miles, and website for registration. Please email me the information using the envelope icon next to this message.
I'm looking for events that are supported rides, generally within a few hours drive from NYC, but could include farther if they'd be of general interest. No triathalons- just supported cycling events.
This calendar is posted on our website under Rides- if you are not familiar with it, you can take a look at this year's calendar to see what information I'm looking for.
Thank you
Gran Fondo NY?
I'm debating on registering for Gran Fondo NY. Anyone ride it last year? Is it worth the $210? What do you guys think?
Holidays got you down? Spend some time in the virtual Alps.
CYCLING 103
This week's training suggestion is time trials. Even though it IS colder and we are in winter mode; doing TTs are a way of keeping fit over the winter. You should do 2 different Central Park(sorry I live there!- sort of) Time Trials. After WARMING UP= do a short 1.68 of a mile lap around just the bottom-below 72nd street. Ride easy 15 minutes and then do a full lap-6.15 mile. These will help for the grading SIG in March. Also- if you do one of these every week you can keep track of fitness level.
PS records I believe are: 3:32- bottom loop-Jean LeNarvenac. 13:00 for the full lap!!~ If you get close I'll find you a pro contract. Happy riding

easy florida tour-any takers?
I'm doing an easy credit card tour in Florida from 1/18 to 1/31. Fly into Ft. Lauderdale, ride down to the Keys, ferry to Ft Meyers, then cross back to Ft. Lauderdale. Using Adventure Cycling maps.
Need some heat and sun? Come along!

Want to get a Cervelo ? + Advice for a tri bike ?
Hi,
Cervelo if offering a $2,000 discount until January 31, 2012, for the purchase of two bikes. Is anyone interested in getting a Cervelo and split the discount ? General conditions and details can be found there: http://www.cervelo.com/en_us/bikes/share-the-ride/
I need to get a triathlon bike this year and I was hesitating between several brands but the offer sounds pretty attractive. I'm leaning towards the P2 (or does the P3 worth the price difference ?) but would welcome your recommendations re: women tri bikes for someone on the "petite" / light side and not a super strong rider.
