Do you have a 27.2 seatpost that I can use for 2-3 months?

Submitted by Rmarcus on Mon, 03/26/2012 - 4:42pm

Do you have a 27.2 seatpost that I can use for 2-3 months? If the price is right I could purchase it.

Seatpost should be about 250MM long with a 20-30mm setback.

I am working on breaking in some saddles  and I like to swap them out WITH the seatpost

once I dial them in. Makes for a faster easier job (for me).

I am able to pick up in the 5 boroughs or maybe NOrth Jersey.. Ft Lee -Nyack etc.

Thanks all.

Does anybody know what kind of "race" was happening in CP yesterday morning? I saw a lot of slower riders, not all on road bikes, wearing numbers..

Parking in Bike Lanes

Cyclists riding aginst traffic IN BIKE LANES

J-Walking

Honking when not needed

Cars with a Tail light out, maybe both

Cars that make illegal U-turns on Broadway, Park Avenue, Jamaica Avenue.. just getting started

Red Hook Crit

Submitted by P. Lee on Mon, 03/26/2012 - 9:52am

I checked out the Red Hook Criterium on Saturday night.  What a blast!  A 20 mile fixed gear race on a .77 mile course set out in the Brooklyn cruise ship terminal.  Not bad for something that started 5 years ago as a birthday party activity by a bunch of friends.   And, yes, there were crashes.  I don't think anyone was seriously hurt, but one bike had both of its carbon fork legs snapped off just below the top of the wheel.

I mapped out this weekend's STS ride using ridewithgps.com.  You can export the route from this page in whatever format works for your unit.  Enjoy!

GW Bridge north pathway

Submitted by Jonathan Merrill on Sun, 03/25/2012 - 11:57pm

The cycling/running/pedestrian path on the south side of the GW Bridge can get very crowded and dangerous, especially on weekends and holidays. If the Port Authority were to open the north pedestrian path at times of peak demand by cycling/running/pedestrian users, safety would be enhanced. And usage is expected to increase with the growing popularity of cycling, bikeshare, etc.

As a club, why not push for having the Port Authority open both paths on busy days?

The PA staff expenses may or may not increase marginally, but accidents and near misses will be reduced.

Does  anyone know if the PA has considered this change previously?
