Caution on the bottom of Clausland Mountain Road
Gravel spread on the bottom of Clausland Mountain Road for approximately 1/2 mile by the local DPW, if you are climbing, it is annoying, if you are descending, it is dangerous.

Cannondale Synapse Carbon Seatpost KP102, Seat clamp will not tighten
A friend's Cannondale Synapse with a KP102 seatpost has a seat clamp that will not tighten. Apparently replacement parts or replacement seatposts are not available. He reports that the aluminum sleeve that the seat-locking mech. fits into, that should be stationary, is rotating.
The NYCC is not the 5BBC
I’ve been extremely disappointed in what I’ve observed on recent NYCC club rides. I haven’t seen a bicycle with a kickstand yet … but I’m worried the day is coming! For the most part the NYCC is a semi-competitive, road cyclist club. The 5BBC is a noncompetitive recreational bike club. We cycle, they go on bike rides. I’d like to share some thoughtful opinions and advice for NYCC cyclists. If you want to look like a cyclist here are some tips:
Limited service returns on the Hudson Line
Effective as of September 7th:
a river runs through it-U cannot reach West Nyack Road from Western Highway (not from Ida damage)
Aficianados of LuLu Cafe have to get there another way. (via Pearl River Naurashaun or Christian Herald from Nyack, etc. Western Highway has been closed about 1/2 mile from its northern terminus and a medium size river runs across its path. I assume it awaits construction of a bridge.
Road Closures New Jersey
Road Closures New Jersey:
County Road where it crosses Cresskill Brook (this is just south of the 'bend' that heads County Road toward Piermont Road). Roadway and east sidewalk entirely washed out, west sidewalk stilll there but looks unstable and I did not try to cross.
Only closure I noted this monring (saturday) on the way to Bradley/Tweed, but certain there are others. Please add.
