Berkshire Ride - A Room Avail in Wainwright Inn May 24-27 3 Nights
My husband and I are not going to be able to make it to the Berkshire Ride this year but have a reservation in Wainwright Inn (Mr. Pope Room) in downtown Great Barrington for 3 nights from May 24th. The rate is $189/night + tax.
This is one of the nicest B&B in Gr. Barrington and is very popular among NYCC riders. If you're interested, please contact me by April 30th before I give up this room. [email protected]

Five Boro Bike Tour security measures - backpacks and hydration packs banned
via Jen Benepe:
http://cyclistsinternational.com/?p=4836
"As part of the new plan cyclists will not be allowed to bring backpacks, or any other types of bags that attach to the bicycle or person riding that are larger than 12 x 7 x 5 inches, the equivalent more or less of a fanny pack. Hydration packs will also not be allowed, nor will saddlebags, either those that attach to the front or the back."
I know this doesn't apply to most of us, but if you're riding in it, be warned.
Is there a benefit to stretching? It's a stretch.
This has great appeal to me, a sloth, who may--may--occasionally stretch the truth, but nothing else:

Why is it that we cannot upload images directly to the message board to illustrate our posts. Just about every other bulletin board on the web allows this but it seems on the NYCC everything has to be external links.. am I missing something ??

Tire liners / tube protectors for 700x23?
I was under the impression that people didn't use tire liners on typical road tires (around 700x23 or 700x25) simply because they were not really a viable product (either no one made them, or they'd never work well if they existed). But I saw this today:
http://www.kendatubeprotectors.com/sizes.html
Would this be a reasonable measure to take in avoiding road flats, or is this much better suited to fat tires for off-road use like CX and MTB?
Advice requested, received summons today (Edit: Dropped!)
Are there any lawyers here that can offer advice for a summons? My friend and I received a pink slip with no fine amount and was requested by the officer to appear in court in June.
Thanks in advance.
Metro North and the Berkshires
Heads up, everyone...if you were planning on riding up, the furthest north you can go is Southeast. I believe it's 60+ miles to Sheffield from there, further to Great Barrington, and the b*tch of it is, one cannot take a "peak" train from GC or Harlem station. Just alerting the masses, especially the "C" and slower "B" riders, in advance to make other plans.
