Reorganization of some Top-Level menu items
All,
We moved some of the top-level menu items around in an effort to better allign the menu items with the top-level sections. Informational/reference type information were moved from the "About Us" and the "Rides/Events" sections into the "Resources" section. Nothing was removed, just moved around. If you can't find something please look under the "Resources" section to see if it's been moved there.
Bike Rack recommendations?
Does anyone have any strong recommendations for/against a 3-4 bike trunk rack? I don't own a car but would like to use it occassionally on rentals etc... so something that fits a wide variety of cars would be ideal. I've been looking at the Saris Bones (http://www.amazon.com/Saris-Bones-801-3-Bike-Trunk/dp/B000BT30RU) and the Allen Deluxe (http://www.amazon.com/Allen-Deluxe-3-Bike-Trunk-Mount/dp/B000ELQNYM)
Thanks!

You’re Covered: Cyclists and Insurance in New York City
Cyclists and pedestrians are entitled to medical care if they are hit by a motor vehicle in New York State. Carol Wood, author of NycCarAccident.net, and Adam White, an attorney specializing in cyclist injuries, discuss the laws involved and how to assert your right to coverage should you ever need it.

8 Week Triathlon Training Plan?
I'm training for my first Olympic distance triathlon. I've done a number of Sprint distances in the past, but not for a number of years. Does anyone have an 8 week training plan they can share with me? Thanks in advance!
Read only if you're interested in staying current on the doping controversy in pro cycling.
GoodbyeCycle.com Experience?
Has anyone ever heard of Goodbyecycle.com? they made a pretty decent offer on one of my old bikes but I don't know anyone who has used the service.
If you know anything about them, please let me know.
Thanks!

Dear Friends,
Bike Repair App Free for Today
A friend just made me aware that this iphone app on "bike repair"--and which is normally $4.00, is being offered today through "Apps Gone Free" for free. Here is the app which I've just downloaded and it looks terrific:
http://appsgonefree.getapp.cc/app/US/382006079
I understand the "apps gone free" site offers a different app on a daily basis for free--so it's possible this app might go off the "free" list tonight or tomorrow.
I've got a bad feeling about this
For the last couple of days, channel 5 news has been promoting a story about "outlaw bikers" that is going to air tonight on the 10:00 PM news. The promos give the impression they're talking about Hell's Angels types, but you don't see people during the promo, just some asphalt. I have a bad feeling that the report will be about bicyclists, though I hope I'm wrong.
East River Park has its (inner) path back!
Here's a picture from last week showing the condition of the cycling and running path on the inner (FDR-drive) side of East River Park, a significant segment of the much-underbuilt East River Greenway. You may remember this path - and particularly this segment - as being a combination of great lake puddles and moon surface. A utility construction project in the late winter forced the excavation of the path from around E10th street (the boundary of an earlier, successful repaving project) down to Grand Street. The roadbed is now fully rebuilt and freshly asphalt-paved.
