Golden Apple/Dirty Apple - thank you, Westchester!

A huge thank you to the Westchester Cycle Club for putting on a gorgeous event. I heard great things about the Golden Apple routes, and can personally attest to the fantastic route and support on the Dirty Apple. The scenery was outstanding, the support was well-placed and stocked, and the volunteers were outstanding. A great day to be out!

Shelter Island/Sag Harbor Ride (Aug. 31st)

I would like to thank Pat Mullen and Neile Weissman for co-leading an amazingly beautiful route yesterday.  As I said on the ride, some parts were akin (for me) to being on a rollercoaster through the woods.  It was one of the best rides I've enjoyed with the NYCC in years!  Also, thanks to Anita, Chris, Courtney, Corinne, Ellen, Margaret, Mark, Paula, and Peter for makingthe day an absolute pleasure!

New York City cyclists can't escape the ticketing blitz in New Jersey: the Palisades Interstate Parkway Police handed out at least 33 summonses to cyclists on Route 9W yesterday. “I’ve been racing 34 years. This is my first ticket,” a Queens resident and ticketed cyclist told The Record. The paper says that cops were out on the popular biking route for four hours, ticketing cyclists for "speeding, not wearing a helmet, or biking through a red light." It's unclear what sort of helmet citation the police handed out, as it's legal for cyclists over the age of 17 to ride without one.

Can't hurt to sign it. Seems like a possilby decisive vote is coming up at the end of September (that is, if they approve the current Parks plan, the work may proceed)

How to upload club rides into Garmin 800?
