Travel Case
I am very new to the NYCC, which means that due to the weather I got a little taste of the amazing group rides, and am now feeling a deep dissatisfaction. Never have I resented frozen water so much. But alas I am traveling to California for 10 days from December 22 to January 1 and am looking forward to some cycling friendly weather. Unfortunately I don't have a case to take my bike on the plane. Can anyone help me?
Thanks,
Pablo
hybrid wheel
Interesting, especially for those who use cycling for commuting.
Works much like the regeneration on EV and Hybrid cars.
Congestion Charging on the Horizon for China’s Cities
Bicycles, having literally been pushed aside in the rush to motorization, are now at least receiving lip service. A number of Chinese speakers extolled urban cycling’s spatial economy, physical activity, and “last mile” problem-solving, and much was made of the massive scale of Hangzhou’s bike-share system: 2,700 stations with nearly 70,000 bikes — an order of magnitude larger than New York City’s. - Streetsblog

Yeah Christy, you're probably right.
We missed you today on Maggie's ice skating ride, and totally accept your excuse not to skate this morning, you had to wear a suit to work for a big meeting. No one would ever wear a suit to skate in, uncool...not functional...just the wrong tool for the job.
central park is unplowed
central park is a slushy mess. probably OK to compute through, but no good for your morning ride.
someone report back if they do plow later today if you don't mind.
Thanks for the birthday wishes
Thank you all for your facebook Happy Birthday wishes. Bill and I were saying yesterday that the only thing we miss about NY is our cycling club friends. We do miss you, please visit us in Telluride. Its beautiful here.

Here is the last installment of our adventures in Colorado: (btw, we've inherited the two remaining chickens) Elks grazing in the backyard now.
Wortendyke Barn & Diner Ride - trying again!
Okay, I'm probably dooming this weekend to crappy weather, but I've re-posted the Wortendyke Barn & Diner ride. Still a fair weather ride, though - precip and generally icky weather cancels.
