I've written you (now twice) to change our start location due to CP's invasion by the 5-Boro/Bike New Yorkers. I asked each of you to write me in return to let me know you got my note. It’s here, it’s here, it’s finally here!!! Warm weather, May and this post on all things Berkshires!  So listen up, take note, do what you must, but please join us for another year of riding, drinking and an all-around great time at the beautiful Berkshires!

Marilyn and Ken are riding the Bronx waterfront Sunday, around/through a group of old/new parks to a picnic lunch at Orchard Beach. Concrete Plant Park, Soundview Park, Shorehaven Bikepath, Kane's Park, Pugsley Creek Park, Castle Hill Park, Ferry Point Park, SUNY Maritime College and Pelham Bay Park are on the agenda.

Easy touring pace - ~30 miles outbound, ~10-12 return via Pelham Parkway Bike Path. We'd enjoy having a few friends along.

Anyone have recommendations for some good multi-mile downhills? Descending from Bear being obvious, Storm King into Cornwall...Thanks in advance!

OT  Parks Supt Gorton advised me that walkers and bicyclists should travel on the right side of the path. Bikers should approach peds with caution and announce their presence and pass on the left of the walkers.  Also-- a bit of good news from him: Phase II of the rail trail, the link from Greenbush Road to the Blauvelt Library on Western Highway is currently under construction and should be finished early next year.
