It was bears, now its turtles
It's that time of the year again. large turtles crossing Western Hwy to lay their eggs! Volunteer turtle crossing guards are being recruited(I'm serious) and cyclists should use caution there.
Montauk B16+
People,
I'm on to lead a B16+ group out of Babylon. Notes:
- Adjusting for head-tail winds, we will keep to a disciplined 16-17 mph pace for the duration. I will ask all of you who can to take turns pulling.
- As I'm leading an early ride in Staten Island on Sunday, I absolutely-positively need to be on the 5:35PM out of Montauk. So this group will not take a sit-down lunch. Rather we will be keeping all food-bio stops to 15-30 minutes. Bring lots of energy bars.

Memorial Day Weekend in the Berkshires

I'll leave it at that as I wouldn't want to be accused of being sentimental. Hopefully some of you will sign up for July 4th as well, so I can again share your wonderful energy.
Thank you!

Cars outta Central and Prospect Parks? A good, strong, definite, "Maybe."
A couple years ago I teased on the MB that a source told me that Bloomberg would declare CP car-free before he left office. Maybe you noticed he didn't. Now I can, or at least will say who that source was: Doug Blonsky, head of the Central Park Conservancy and a friend of Bloomberg and who, so he said, had Bloomberg's ear, and Bloomberg, his.
