Snow Devils Outing - Sat., 1/30
This week’s outing from Tuxedo, NY will be on Saturday, 1/30.
We’ll enjoy (4) lookouts as we follow the R-D, TMI, and Blue Disk trails, past (and over) Claudius Smith’s Den to lunch at Tri-Trail Corner. Depending on conditions, we may bushwhack to a Triangle trail return. Length 4-1/2 to 5-1/2 miles, depending on route.
Snow conditions are expected to dictate MicroSpikes, etc.
Looking for an early season Sportive / Fondo
Anyone know of anything within an hour and half drive. I would like to do an early season AKA before GFNY sportive/ fondo.
I am aware of the Hell of Hunterdon but that one features a lot of gravel and rough stuff. I don't have the bike (at least the wheels) or desire for that.

Pitchers and catchers... and SIGs
Pitchers and catchers in 28 days... SIGs in 45.
The February club meeting is dedicated to the various SIG and STS programs. It is normally the most well attended meeting of the year. This year should be no exception as over sixty of us have already signed up for February 9th. If you're curious about the programs (and you should be!), this meeting is not to be missed. Captains, leaders, past participants will all be in attendance. Questions will be answered. Excitement will be generated. Come, join the fun.
As for me, I'll be the guy at the bar... it's where all the "bad" kids sit.

Photos / strategies for taking bike aboard Metro North, LIRR, and NJ Transit?
Anyone have an especially good technique (photos appreciated) for getting 1-2 bikes aboard these trains?
On "modern" Metro North style cars my GF and I tend to use the space with the push-down seat for our two bikes, using a nylon strap to secure them. Both wheels on the ground, and not "upside down". (One of my bikes has fenders.)
On older, "boxy" style Metro North cars such as the ones on the Hudson line, we raise our bikes up on the rear wheels and try to snag a set of double facing seats.
I don't think either of these are especially good. They take up too much space, especially with a 58cm frame.
Are any of you taking off your front wheel?

Fenders For Small Frame
Hi,
Can anyone recommend a set of fenders for a small frame (47cm) with 700x25c tires? I haven't been able to find a fender that fits the front wheel. I'm not sure if it's the small frame or the wide curved fork on the Trek Silque, maybe both? There doesn't seem to be enough clearance between the wheel and the frame for the fender. Visited my LBS, looked online, tried the SKS Raceblade without the extra flap on the front, all to no avail. Any suggestions?
