Where do you measure frame size?

Submitted by JFinder on Wed, 02/03/2016 - 12:48pm

If a road bike has a 54cm frame, where do you put your tape to measure the 54cm?

Or does the "54" represent something else?

River Road rock slide

Submitted by EODonnell on Tue, 02/02/2016 - 12:25pm

A friend just e-mailed me that on his drive back from upstate, he could see from the NY side across to NJ that a huge piece of rock had sheared away from the Palisades.  Looks like it's not a minor slide?

The latest fraud in international racing. And the latest stupidity and arrogance.

The rider's thin and not very credible excuse amounts to a Belgian waffle.

As for stupidity and arrogance, this short vid is thoroughly enjoyable: http://www.businessinsider.com/oops-cyclist-thinks-he-won-world-title-2016-1

And that calls to mind this! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkO78wo-zpo

Avoiding the Peirmont Court house

Submitted by Sylvain on Sun, 01/31/2016 - 5:08pm

I got ticked for not stoping at a stop sign on Ash, going down in peirmont.

Is there any way to avoid going to the court day and just pay the ticket?

Please advise!

Thank you!

headset loosens in cold weather

Submitted by MGrinthal on Sat, 01/30/2016 - 11:58pm

Carbon steer tube, aluminum spacers between the threadless stem and headset.  In the cold, the spacers contract a bit while the carbon steer tube doesn't.  As a result, I get a bit of play in the headset.  This goes away when I'm back indoors or when it warms up.  I don't want to tighten the headset to the point where it's sufficiently tight in the cold, as then it could be overtightened when it's warm.  Given the prevalence of carbon steer tubes and aluminum spacers, I can't the only one with the problem.  Does anyone have a solution (other than carbon spacers - I'm considering this, but hoping there's a clever solution that doesn't involve buying anything new).

Thanks!
