London road bike hire?
Hi - anyone have any suggestions for a shop in London that will hire road bikes?
Bicycle highlights from the June 21st CP Precinct Community Council meeting
1. Captain Peter Andrea reported on ytd stats: 117 moving summons issued to cyclists in 2017 which was down from 177 last year. 93 of those were for failure to yield to a pedestrian at crossings. Andrea recognizes that cyclists go through red lights but emphasizes the enforcement approach is to issue summons when they see reckless or dangerous activity which threatens the safety of either or both of cyclists and pedestrians. In other words, be mindful and respectful of pedestrians and other park visitors while doing laps.
Ride with GPS - question re pit stops and discontinuities
As a dedicated user of Ride Without GPS, I was slow to appreciate that Ride With GPS could also be very beneficial to my purposes, i.e., cue sheet generation. Having finally given it a try, following the tips in this presentation https://nycc.org/Better_Cue_Sheets plus using Robovia, this luddite is an enthusiastic convert.
The presentation hints at further advice regarding pit stops. Is that available somewhere? Another question I have is whether it's possible to not "count" part of a route, such as a ferry crossing that should be on the cue sheet but not factor into the mileage.
ENY WELCOMES BACK SUPER SPONSOR STEPHEN ROCHE!
We are very excited announce that our generous and loyal sponsor Stephen Roche is donating a free trip for two to his cycling camp in Mallorca, Spain—a dream cycling destination that has something for pros and amateurs alike. Where you can test your strength and endurance on the fabled Sa Colobra, a 10k climb that has breath-taking scenery as well as spine-tingling switchbacks—26 in all! Or just enjoy relaxed (and virtually car-free) guided rides on an island that has a centuries old cultural history—as well as amazing almond cake. It’s why dozens of NYCC members go back year after year

9W Cleanup and C rides
We're doing the 9W cleanup on Sunday, June 25. I haven't posted anything earlier due to preoccupation with the 3 club ride the day before. Also, James Gilbert and the NYCC Racing Team have 20 people showing up for the cleanup so we have it pretty well covered.
James will be posting a C ride for the cleanup so if some of you want a nice relaxed ride to The Market, this will be your chance, and an opportunity to ride with one of our USA Cycling Category 2 or 3 racers. Maybe he'll show you how to bunny hop your bike on the way there! Or pick up a water bottle from the ground while riding.
"Training for Optimal Performance" presentation from NYCC monthly meeting
Thanks to everyone that came out for the NYCC monthly meeting last week. We hope you enjoyed the presentation on training for optimal performance.
Here is a link to the presentation that was used so people can have a look at some of the charts and writing that may have been a little too small to see from afar.

President's Message, "Masters of the Universe"
I don't know why my first posting above got so jumbled, hope this version is readable.
I often have a “President’s Message” on the carousel of the main page of our Club’s website. I try and post a new message each month. The June’s President’s Message is on the carousel right now. For whatever reason, I am posting it here as well. It is titled, “Masters of the Universe”;
The first part of our 2017 cycling season has concluded.
It started the second Tuesday in February with the SIG membership meeting.
It ended on Memorial Day weekend in the Berkshires.
