Seeking Tips on Using Wahoo Elemnt BOLT

Submitted by edelk on Thu, 01/03/2019 - 8:31pm

I just got my BOLT and I’m already a fan of the format. I’d love links to especially useful “Tips” on setting it up. Yes, I did Google this but crowdsourcing experienced NYCC members made a lot of sense. Thanks!

Belt Parkway MUP

Submitted by P. Lee on Wed, 01/02/2019 - 3:22pm

Has anyone ridden recently the multi-use path along the Belt Parkway between Sheepshead Bay and Pennsylvania Avenue?  Looking for a status report.  They've been doing a lot of construction in that area.

MAY MMIX BE BETTER THAN MMXVIII

AND NOT AS GOOD AS MMXX!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

What:
• Want to learn how to build a wheel? Bring a rim, spokes, and hub. Come at 10.  Go home at 2:00 with your own perfectly built wheel that you'll have built yourself.
• Want to learn just truing, not building?  Bring a wheel, preferably one way out of true, but any one will do. Come at 10:30.

I've implored the NYCC for several years and now ENY to include Streetsblog.org among those to whom it donates. Read this last-of-the-year edition and see if you don't agree that it's useful and important information for all cyclists and helps NYCC members:

crash in the park

   Crash in Central Park

Desperate to get just a little bit of riding in, as I approached the area by the boathouse

was irritated by what looked like another gang of tourists clustered in th middle lane.

Stopped to realized they’d stopped to help a down cyclist.

Turned out to be Hal Eskenazi - his shoulder was hurting but seemed ok

and cognitive. He did recognized me, then About 2:00 EMS arrived took

him and bike to ER at Presbyterian (70th & York). I figure club members will

want to check on him. He did call someone to alert them of the event

and to where he was going.

Cycling Partner(s) Wanted

Submitted by JOlson on Sat, 12/29/2018 - 9:27pm

Looking for a bicycling partner (or partners) to join me for a couple of informal weekday morning laps around Central Park, about C14, probably two or three times a week. Takes about an hour door-to-door. I can be flexible as to time.

It's a great way to start the day.

NOT an NYCC Club ride.

I ride year-round, except in heavy rain, when snow/ice is on the ground, or when the temperature is REALLY cold/windy, etc.

If interested, please contact me via the NYCC Membership Directory. Look forward to meeting you.

Merry Christmas to all!!!

Could there be a more glorious day for a ride, a party or simply a long-deserved holiday nap? Whatever you choose to do with it, ENJOY!

Merry Christmas to all of you!
