Thomas Cole/Hudson River Museum ride postponed to Sunday
Saturday's weather forecast looks awful.
The Sunday ride listing will be up a little later.
Amy Klobuchar once cycled 145 miles in one day
By coincidence that's also just a bit longer than my longest ride(also in the Midwest!) June 8, 1985 Saugus, Mich to Chicago 140 miles. She was much younger than I.
Come join me for a virtual ride this Saturday, Jan 18, 2020
It's going to be really cold Saturday morning, and snowing in the afternoon. If you want to ride, but don't want to deal with the weather, come join me for a Zwift ride. There are 3 rides posted they all start at 9am.
See you there.

90 Minute Indoor Ride for Parkinson's Disease
Hey NYCC,
I want to share a brand new event from the Parkinson's Foundation that is happening in NYC (and 6 other cities) on February 8th! Parkinson’s Revolution is an indoor cycling event that combines high energy cycling and fundraising to raise awareness for Parkinson’s disease (PD). This year is our inaugural event and it’s also right in our backyard!
As we ramp up for the 90 minute ride, I wanted to invite our outdoor road cyclists inside for a day of indoor riding, training, and some fun perks (did I mention chair massages and champagne?)!
Status of Six Mile Run (mountain bike venue outside New Brunswick)
This posted from the Palisades MTB site a few days ago:
"Lots of people are wondering if SixMile is rideable, given the nice weather. The answer is a big fat NO. All should consider the trails closed for the next few months unless completely frozen (i.e. Below freezing for days)."
NYCC Merino Jersey
You can still order our custom NYCC merino jersey.
From order date to delivery takes less than 4 weeks.
"it came today and fits perfectly with the extra length I requested. Can't wait to try it on a ride! "
Board Meeting Minutes
October through December. When will they be published?
Nice weather tomorrow!
Anyone interested in joining me for this: https://nycc.org/node/115600
We'll be taking it easy! 18ish or so...
Tubeless Tires Pros and Cons
Hi:
I know I'm risking starting a war, but....
I'm trying to decide if I should convert to tubeless. I have two bikes and both haves wheels that are tubeless ready, but I run them with tubes. Currently, one bike is on the smart trainer with the wheels stored away, and the other is awaiting it's next outdoor ride. I typically swap bikes about every 6 months.
For the outdoor ready bike it could be 1 - 2 weeks between outdoor rides.
B15-STS coleaders needed
B-STS is 16mph and up, C-STS is 13mph resulting in a gap for mid speed riders.
I volunteered as a B-STS Coleader and am looking for other coleaders. Anyone interested can contact me or Michael Roth. We'd appreciate the help.
