You Still Haven’t Signed Up for the Holiday Party??
Have you signed up for the Holiday Party???
It's going to be great! See details on the Carousel or on the "Sticky" post, above.
Dinner and a free drink for $40? Feel free to bring your significant other? Where else in Manhattan are you going to get such a deal for the holidays? (Well, maybe from your employer who spent your raise on their holiday party. But I digress).
Come have some fun with your riding buddies. The more the merrier!

I hope not. Enjoy the ride.

Peloton commercial isn't just criticized here; it's mauled.
GW Bridge Reminder
Last winter when we had snow & ice, the Port Authority spread potassium chloride pellets as a de-icer on the bridge path. The pellets melted into messy globs that stuck to our wheels & drive trains and was a bear to clean up. So this is just a reminder, when you cross the brige this winter, be aware of blobs of white matter that might look like little patches of snow. They may be globs of potassium chloride and you do NOT want to ride thru them.
Stay safe out there.
The results are in! NYS is ranked 13th best state for bike friendliness.
The League of American Cyclists just published its annual listing. We're Number 12! We're Number 12! Our grade for Legislation & Enforcement? F.
And New Jeresey? Its #11. Its grade for Legislation & Enforcement? F.

Is there a greater quote about cycling than this? It's new to me.
Morningside Drive repaved
Sometime between last Friday and this morning, Morningside Drive north of 114th was finally repaved. It had been milled weeks ago and is now nice and smooth.
Recollections of an 80 year old, 38 or 39 year club member: Chapt. 7: Tipping ride leaders? Uhh, noooo.
Thank you, one month late today, to those who extended me birthday wishes on my 80th birthday.
I am not the oldest member of the club: that would be former club president, George Kaplan, 89—and very well. Nor am I the longest active member of the club: that would be Herb Dershowitz, member since 1978. But I am the oldest member of the club who still rides. (World bike traveler Jay Jacobson is a scant but exact 4 months right behind me.)
I don't really deserve any credit for being my age: all it has required is that I continue to breathe.
Roboviva is down
I hope just for the weekend. Without it I am cueless!
