Lost keys - St. Nich/River Road/9W/Spoon
Somehow I managed to lose my house keys yesterday along a route from St. Nicholas to the bridge to River Road, Alpine police station, 9W, Runcible Spoon, and back.
I've called every place I stopped, with no luck. So on the off chance that someone found them on the road, I'd hugely appreciate an email at my Message Board user name plus yahoo.com and I can describe them ... thanks!
Self proclaimed "Next Mayor of NYC" and rabid bike lane hater tweets pix of his panties.
Anthony Weiner says, "When I'm elected Mayor of New York, I'll rip up all the bike lanes." His strategy for getting elected? Tweeting pix of his panties.
Here's the pic in question. Caution, suggestive shadows and career suicide clearly visible.
Go Anthony.
Women's road bike shoes for sale
Hey, all you people in finance! This bike shop owner needs your help.
Ever watchful for you who don't devour the NY Times for news of interest (or boredom) to you:

It's a fine, old shop (1891, claimed to be the oldest bike shop in America) with a terrific reputation...or, at least, it was when last I knew of it.
Anyone can help with mapping a ride to Lake Mohawk, NJ
I am contemplating a ride up to a buddies house in Andover, near Lake Mohawk and have been messing around with MapMyRide. Does anyone have any proven routes that go that way. Bearing in mind how hot it is and this a solo ride.. Not really looking for a lot of hill climbing.
Thanks for any ideas
Berkshires Pictures
I'm very late with my thanks to all who organized the amazing Berkshires weekend trip this year! Special kudos goes out to whoever arranged for the great weather!
I didn't take many pictures this year - trying to lighten my load on the climbs - but here's what I have:
Black Car v. me on a 20 year old hybrid...we all know who wins.
Had a scary accident this morning at 169th and Ft.
Necking on Long Island - the purrrfect century
I always knew my Necking on Long Island ride was about 100 miles. I just carefully mapped it out. From the Central Park Boathouse and back it comes out as exactly 100 miles--to the tenth of a mile. I don't aim for perfection, in fact, try to steer clear of it, but the route just worked out that way. Check it out for yourself:

We ride this Sunday, June 5, starting at the Boathouse at 8:00. Anyone who wants to join us, please sign up through the ride listing:

Closing Central Park to Cars for Trial Period: How to Support
The resolution passed by Community Board 7 to close Central Park to vehicular traffic for a trial period this summer now needs passage by the other Community Boards bordering the Park....Community Boards 5, 8 and 10....before DOT gives its blessing.
The best way at this point to show support ....attend the next Community Board meetings of these districts.
For both CB 5 & CB 8 it is an agenda item at their next general session. It will likely be an agenda item for CB10 at their upcoming Parks and Rec sub-committee meeting on June 8.
If you'd like to speak in favor of the issue, arrive 15 minutes early for signup.
