Selling my 2010 Specialized Dolce Comp (51CM frame)

Submitted by galgalone on Fri, 07/08/2011 - 9:11am

After about half a season of riding, it has been determined that the frame on my Dolce is too small for my long torso and I got a bigger frame (also upgraded my bike).

This bike was bought at Toga October 2010, I did the B SIG on this bike, and enjoyed every minute of it.  The bike has a total of about 1300 miles on it.

This is the highest model for the Dolce series... Women's geometry and Simano 105 shifters.

I upgraded the tires to Continental 4 Season Grand Prix about 300 miles ago.

I have a double wireless Strada Cat Eye installed (I paid 120 bucks for it in March)

I moved my clips to the new bike, so these come with no clips.

The bike is in great shape, it is my baby and I take great care of it.

Submitted by ATaruschio on Thu, 07/07/2011 - 10:05pm

hi all - this is just to let NYCC women know that we've posted a series of rides geared toward women riders looking to work on their cooperative group riding skills, improve their pace, ride with other women A-Riders, and/or get info about the NYCC's A SIG programs.

Hope to see you out on the upcoming ride - this Sunday, July 10.  The one after that will take place on July 24.  You can check out the ride posting and sign up at http://nycc.org/ride-detail/52111.

Need recommendation of bike shops - spokes -midtown east

Submitted by Wsun on Thu, 07/07/2011 - 7:54pm
My rear wheel has several spokes that can not cover fully anymore, 6 of them. Please recommend one. I know the one at Tudor city but it seems quite pricy. What would be a reasonable prize? My wheel is shimano wh-rsso, only 2-year old. Thanks in advance!

Monroe, NY - Harriman Help

Submitted by CLam on Thu, 07/07/2011 - 2:49pm

I would like an easy route to Monroe, NY (none in the ride library) for an overnight event. I have a couple of questions and would appreciate any input.

If I go through Harriman via 7 lakes drive, Is Route 6 ridable, or is it a parkway to stay away from?

What’s an easy way from Monroe to Bear Mt. Bridge if route 6 is out of the picture on the return?

NY Century Sept 18: Worth it or is like the 5Boro crowdfest?

Has anyone done this tour and can comment on logistics, routes, participating cyclists, etc.  Some friends are interested in the 35 mile route and some others, including me, would consider the longer routes -- the 55, 75, or 100.  Thanks to all for any input.

I broke the first two commandments of cycling - look before you change lanes and signal your intentions.  Fortunately mystery guy was paying good attention and had excellent skills, and averted what would have been a horrific crash.  Mystery guy, it was completely my fault.  Let this be a reminder to all:

Keep your eyes on the driving

keep your hands on the wheel

keep your snoopy eyes on the road ahead....

Used woman's commuter bike needed

Submitted by SKestenbaum on Thu, 07/07/2011 - 6:22am
I am looking for a decent bike for a friend that wants to use it for commuting and an occasional 10-20 mile ride. She is 5'6" tall. If anyone has their "old beater bike" taking room in their storage space and is willing to sell it for cheap, please let me know. [email protected]

If anyone from NYCC is going, email me.  I've done 3 before this year, but not since 2000.  Am part of Pork Belly Ventures group for the week.
