NY Times reporters apparently no longer cover TDF

Submitted by JJacobson on Sat, 07/09/2011 - 6:17pm

The natl newspaper of record has been using AP dispatches from the tour.  Juliet Macur who had been covering the Tour for the Times is now writing on drug issues for sports in general in the paper.  (BTW she would make an excellent NYCC meeting speaker).  Draw your own conclusions.

I know when placing my order it said all orders will be fulfilled in July. So, when are they coming, anyone know?

Bikes get central park shortcuts

Submitted by GYang on Sat, 07/09/2011 - 8:21am

Bicyclists trying to get legally from one side of Central Park to the other have long faced a challenge: because the park’s pedestrian paths are closed to cyclists, they have to either ride the looping vehicular drive south to 60th Street and then head north again, potentially going miles out of their way, or brave the narrow, crowded transverse roads.

Shops in London ?

Submitted by Sir Roger on Fri, 07/08/2011 - 10:46pm

I am called to London next week on family business but may have half a day to do some shopping. Does anyone know of a bike shop that might sell retro / vintage or otherwise English Jerseys

Thanks

Roger B

FS: New resistance band set

Submitted by CWood on Fri, 07/08/2011 - 7:27pm

Need some shoulder work? Me too. That's why I ordered this nice set of resistance bands on Amazon, 2-30 pounds resistance.

Too bad I didn't think about where I'd be able to attach them in my small apartment. Like, nowhere. (Unless I drill a hook into a custom bookcase. Don't think so.) So I'm sticking with low-tech Therabands.

Before I ship these back, if you're in the market, you can have them for what I paid, $28. If interested, please email me within one week.

They can be attached to a door, if you are fortunate enough to have one of those in your dwelling unit.
