Now I before someone slaps a big "DUH!" decal on my forehead, tells me that EVERYONE knows this site and that the mysterious but clearly unbelieveably industrious Ken and Sharon Roberts are NYCC life members ... this is IN CASE some NY cycling neophyte from another planet like me hasn't seen it ...
Downeast Maine rides through Labor Day Weekend
Message me if you are interested in some road bike riding (40-75 mile hilly routes) on the Blue Hill Peninsula or Deer Isle over the next week. The roads are mostly paved, exceptionally scenic and have very light traffic. I do have a few extra bikes up here if you need to borrow one.

29-year-old cyclist dies after getting run over by car near Brooklyn home (NYDaily Newas, Aug. 31, 2011)
A 29-year-old Brooklyn woman died Tuesday (Aug. 30) after she fell off her bicycle and was run over by a car just blocks away from her home, cops said.
Erica Abbott was pedaling her bike southbound on Bushwick Ave. and rode through a construction site near Powers St. about 7 p.m., police and witnesses said.
Abbott suddenly lost her balance near a pile of loose wood on the street after a car horn honked and she turned her head, witnesses said.
The cyclist, who was wearing a helmet, fell toward traffic and a 2002 Mercedes-Benz ran her over, police and witnesses said.

BRIAN WHITELEY loves his bicycle, a black fixed-gear Schwinn that he rides around New York City almost every day. His landlord, however, does not share this affection, fearing scuffed floors and chipped paint. And that has become a problem.

red light ticket: points on license
I got a ticket for going through a red light on Riverside Drive at 114th. I broke the law, and I deserve the ticket (although it stings a little on a deserted Riverside Drive - midweek at 1pm).
Anyways, I was all ready to plead guilty until I see that three points will be added to my license. The cop specifically said this would NOT happen, and as far as I can tell it shouldn't have happened. However, I have not been able to figure out how to fix this mistake.
Has this happened to anyone? Thoughts?
