Park(ing) Day 2011 - Pop-up bike service on E27th and 2nd in Manhattan
Very last minute and cobbled together, because the approvals just came in 2 days ago... We're running a pop up bike service "park" on 27th and 2nd, today 9/16, now until dusk. More details here: http://tumblr.com/xz44q0kz25 Stop by to chat, or to mooch a few drops of chain lube off of us. Jay will be there until close, and I'm joining him as soon as I slip out of the office today.
Thanks to Bicycle Habitat for helping with equipment on short notice!
(Hey, does anyone have "grass" carpet we can borrow? Home Depot wasn't helpful. Ooof.)

Just thought I would share this.
I went to look at this bike and WOW !! I knew it was probably too small for me but I looked at it anyway. If only it was a little bigger.. damn.. this thing is pristine.. fantastic repaint and the rear cassette is brand new.. it is a thing of beauty...
Condition of Henry Hudson Drive ("River Road")?
On the 9th, members reported that a rockslide and/or a tree were blocking River Road. Anyone know its present condition?

Btw, the bikes will have 3 speed internal hubs.
Pricing has not been decided yet. Ready or not, they'll be rolling by next summer.
I'm guessing this will be the end of all the bike rentals around CP and The Hudson waterfront. The cost would have to be less than a subway fare for the average ny'er to give it a try.
