We should boycot Coach products
I notice that almost every posting on the message board has been hacked by Coach or someone advertising Coach outlet online store. Unless this stops immediately and whoever owns Coach apologizes to NYCC we should all boycot their stores. There are plenty of other places one can get overpriced leather products. We don't need to support someone who abuses our website.
I don't buy the argument that Coach isn't responsible for this. They have duty to take action to protect their Trademark and if they get the message the customers will avoid companies that permit this sort of intrusive advertising, they will do something. The Lanham Act was passed for a reason; Coach should use it.
I NEVER ride this late in the year. Join me for a ClimBathon tomorrow. Boathouse. 10:30AM
B-18. Sixty miles. Surely the last warm day this year.

Congratulations to Maggie Nguyen ! ! !
Congratulations go out to Maggie Nguyen, the New York Cycle Club's great leader, for completing Sunday's ING Marathon. Where does she find all the time and energy for her adventures? Again, congratulations for your incredible achievement, Maggie.
Want to Buy: 650c Rear Wheel
It's needle in the haystack time...does anyone have an old 650c rear wheel with a Shimano hub lying around that you'd like to sell? I'm in the market. Post a response or email me thru the envelope icon below my name. Thanks.

Canti brake pad suggestion
My commuter/touring bike has some Shimano Canti pads. They seem to do an okay job, but I do not feel the grab that I get on my road bike. The wheels have Avaya rims and my guess is that they are fairly old as the bike is used.
Plenty of life on the rims and I have cleaned both rims and pads.
Any suggestion to a better pad for the upcoming wet winter season?
Thanks
Rob
Short Clove into Haverstraw
NYSDOT reports they've just completed the new Short Clove Bridge over the CSX railroad. This new bridge is 1/2 miles north of the old, at-grade railroad crossing that we've used to get in & out of the south end of the Village of Haverstraw. Signs are posted for the bike route. The old Short Clove road has been closed and barricaded off.
Gran Fondo New Jersey- Special Event at Sids, 19th street
This year 17 NYCC members ventured out to Morristown New Jersey for the first Gran Fondo New Jersey. Marty's Reliable Cycles of New Jersey ran the event and was the primary sponsor. Not only was it a beautiful day with a beautiful route, but so well run by Marty's Reliable.
Marty's Reliable along with Sids, 19th street, will have a Gran Fondo New Jersey Event, on November 10th, at 7pm.
If you have ridden NY Gran Fondo, why not check out New Jersey Gran Fondo. Marty and his team will be making a Gran Fondo Presentation , a recap of 2011 and the plan for the 2nd Annual Gran Fondo New Jersey, 2012.
