Announcing Some Exciting Enhancements to our Ride Library
Hey folks,
While most of us were hybernating this long and miserable winter, our Ride Librarians, Carol and Hank, have been hard at work revamping our NYCC Ride Library. Read about the improvements here. http://nycc.org/node/74580
We've got some more enhacements planned but we wanted to get feedback on the work we've done thus far, as well as thoughts on how we can further improve the Ride Library.
Thanks in advance,
The NYCC Web Team
Riverdale Greenway Day
For those of you who support a Bronx all river Greenway, here is an opportunity to actually visit the site of the proposed Greenway on April 19th.
Harlem Hill repeats
Hello, I'm new to cycling and am interested in incorporating hill repeats into my training. I'm just riding for fitness, not for a particular race. I live near Harlem Hill (northern loop of Central Park) so I figure that's a good place to start. How many repeats would people recommend shooting for before I stop increasing the number of times up the hill and start increasing intensity? When I ran track, we usually capped it at 10 times up the hill.

Ride is relatively short and flat, 43 miles and 1000 ft of elevation. There will probably be some wind. Pace will be somewhere in the 15-16 range.

Speed's effect on one's "cone of vision"
Driving speed affects the driver’s “cone of vision.” You can see a lot more detail at (15): people on the sidewalk, a bicyclist in the periphery, or the ‘open’ sign on a storefront.
