Who is riding Saturday...and who is not.
Tomorrow's ride offerings:
Bicycle Sunday: late listing B/18 for Sunday 6/14
Just added a B-18 ride for this Sunday. Cue sheet still in development for exact details will be available late Saturday night to registered riders of http://nycc.org/node/7550
The ride is built around using the Bicycle Sunday closure of Bronx River Parkway both northbound and southbound. I rode this last Sunday and it was fun. After the Parkway we'll hook around through Mt. Kisco and then on to New Rochelle and then back to Manhattan. Note that I currently plan to attempt to use the High Bridge to get to The Bronx. We'll return via the Broadway Bridge.
Please do not come on this ride if you're looking to get home at 1PM.
9W Cleanup Ride is ON
The forecast has changed for the better -- low probability of rain early in the morning and 0% beginning at noon. So, worst case is the grass is a little damp.
There are 4 rides posted for tomorrow that include participating in this twice a year opportunity to clean up a short stretch of 9W. The entire job should take about an hour, maybe less if more people come.
There will be light refreshments, courtesy NYCC at THe Market and of course you can supplement that individually.
Many thanks to Richard Rosenthal, Michael Bernstein, Linda Wintner, Alan Resnick and Michael Roth for volunteering to lead rides or bring people to the Market.

RIVERDALE RIVERFEST - June 14 - C ride
Please join us on Sunday, June 14th, for the FREE Riverdale Riverfest. The mission of the Riverfest is to bring people down to the Hudson River in Riverdale to encourage support for development of a bicycle/pedestrian Greenway along the Hudson River in the Bronx that would connect with the existing West Side Greenway in Manhattan.
A few of the many highlights of the festival are 1) one and a half hour sails on Pete Seeger's iconic sloop, the Clearwater as well as sails on the schooner, A.J. Meerwald, ($25 cost), 2) a headline performance by the iconic band Blood, Sweat and Tears (5-6:30pm), and 3) a Transportation ALternatives BIKE VALET (free)!
Heart Across America Looking for escort riders this Sunday
Hey Folks,
Heart Across America - a cross country ride that started in Palo Alto, is finishing in NYC on Sunday, June 14th. It was started by Sean Maloney, who was Intel's CEO-to-be 5 years ago before he suffered from a stroke. After recovering, he is cycling across America to bring attention to stroke and preventative steps that everybody can take (fortune.com/2014/10/30/intel-maloney-bike-ride-stroke/).
Cyclists and Dogs in Central Park
Just wanted to put this up as an FYI:
Cyclists lose court battles with owners of animals involved in collisions.
Here is an official list of where dogs are and are not allowed in Central Park, and where they are required to be leashed. One might think a leash is always required but that is not the case. Note, dogs are allowed off-leash in areas around the main loop road from 6-9AM; in other words, exactly where & when many riders would be likely to try and squeeze in laps.
