Info Please - St Tropez
Does anyone have any experience cycling near St Tropez.
Full disclosure...I have not won the lottery..
A pal of mine has just taken a job that comes with a 2 bed appartment and he has invited me to come down this summer.
Since I am planning on being in the UK with bike for the last couple of weeks of August it seems like a no brainer to catch a plane for the Cote D'azur for a long weekend..
Infos ?? Routes ?? Experiences ? Horror stories.. ??
River Road Status
Does anyone know if it's bikeable up until Alpine Circle these days?
Rockland County: interesting information about major NYCC ride destination
Of New York state's 62 counties, Rockland is the second healthiest. Based on statistics such as longevity, infant birthweight, high school graduation rate, access to exercise, residents per doctor, etc. go to:http://www.lohud.com/story/news/health/2017/03/29/ny-healthiest-live-rockland-putnam-westchester/99723762/
Another interesting, but I assume unrelated fact, is that of the 3,000 counties in the US, Rockland has the highest percentage of Jewish residents.
Charity Spot for TD Five Boro Bike Tour: Help Kids with Asthma!
There are 32,000 cyclists who register for the Five Boro Bike Tour every year. That's a traffic jam just waiting to happen. BUT, if you're a charity rider, you get a PRIORITY START TIME in front of the other riders. You also have a buffet of DELICIOUS FOOD ready and waiting for you in Staten Island. To top it off, you'll be helping kids with asthma have healthier and more activie lives. To register, visit our website: http://www.air-nyc.org/5-boro/. For questions, email me at [email protected].
Thanks and happy riding!

An absolutely riveting, compelling, and important accomplishment by an ex-NYCC member.
I am forever amazed how exceedingly highly accomplished are some of our members. I just watched two hours f a 3-part documentary on PBS about war crimes and atrocities, including our own: Afghanistan, Congo, WWII Germany, Guatamala, Iraq, Rwanda, Srebrenica, Vietnam, and the search for justice arising from them. At the end of it was the credit of the writer, producer, and director—all the same person. The person? To my great surprise: Jonathan Silvers, former member of the NYCC.

Self guided bike tours - Europe
Looking for information on Self Guided tour operators in Europe. If you have experience - chime in. I'm looking to ride solo...nothing insanely hard, but not flat roads. I want to feel like I worked! I'm also not overly interested in France, Italy or Spain - but if you have experience there, I'd like to hear it because maybe I'll change my mind. I'm leaning toward Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovenia, etc. Riding in late september/early october.
B16 laps in Central Park - Tuesday, 3/28 - CANCELED
Sorry but the forecast is for rain. Hope to see you Thursday.
Gotham Bikes has closed
I noticed today Gotham Bikes on Reade St in TriBeCa has closed. I don't know how long they have been closed but it's a shame to lose an independent bike shop but I guess it's a tough retail climate for everyone these days. I know they were owned by the people who own Toga Bikes which seems to have been a busier location.
