Ride ENY with cycling team siggi's/NYVelocity

Submitted by tapper13 on Fri, 09/07/2012 - 10:19am

For anyone interested in learning more about racing or just wanting to ride an A/20 pace for ENY, join up with the riders from the siggi's/NYVelocity team who will be out for the ride.  We’ll be meeting up around 7:00 in Sakura Park, keep an eye out for our blue and white kit (I’ll be riding a white Specialized).  We’ll leave around 7:20 so we can wait for our riders who will be racing that morning. If you’d like to learn more about the team (even just what our kit looks like so you can find us on the 22nd), check out http://www.siggisracing.com/ This will not be a hammer ride, just a group ride at an A+ pace.

Bikes in Buildings Law - anyone gotten their employer on board?

Submitted by Slugger on Thu, 09/06/2012 - 4:40pm

I was just moved to a new building and lost my indoor, guarded, restricted access bike parking. I am, needless to say, in serious withdrawal (like tapering...indefinitely!). I asked at the front desk of my new building and was told that there is outdoor parking "near security" around the corner. Which, needless to say, isn't gonna work out long term.

So I'm going to approach my boss about trying to get access through the Bike in Buildings Law. Has anyone here ever tried to do this? Anyone have any tips or thoughts I should consider before going to my boss? I found a topic from last fall (http://nycc.org/message-board/bike-storage-proliferates-manhattan-office...), but it didn't have what I'm looking for.

With over 2,000 constituents, its community relationships and its proven past success in steering local cycling policy and rolling back over-reaching anti-cycling enforcement, I was wondering what NYCC is doing today in addressing the recent anti-cycling police activity in Central Park as well as exerting the club's influence and diplomacy in New Jersey and the relevant NJ counties and DOT that may now appear to be considering some modified cycling policies for 9W.

Using Ridewithgps - problem getting cue sheet notes to appear

Submitted by DHauss on Wed, 09/05/2012 - 10:16am

Anyone know how to get ridewithgps.com to print notes on the cuesheet (e.g., lunch stops, cautions, etc.)?  I entered lunch and water stops onto my route and they show up on the monitor but when I generate a cuesheet, they don't appear
