On this festive day I'm thankful for all those that I got to ride with this year... as for the rest of you, you should be thankful I DIDN'T ;)

Have a very happy holiday, and I'll see you on the road.

Anyone tried Cycelops PowerCal?

Submitted by DRosenberg on Wed, 11/21/2012 - 4:25pm

Has anyone used the CycleOps PowerCal.  It's only $99 for heart rate monitoring.

I read in Velonews that iBike worked pretty close to being as good as a PowerTap.

Anyone tried the CycleOps PowerCal:

Submitted by CWaaser on Tue, 11/20/2012 - 4:20pm

The south path on the bridge was open today (Tuesday), even though the Port Authority website says the north path is open all this week.  I've sent an email to my contact at the PA to ask if the south path will be open Thursday & Friday.  Will post if I get a reply.

Riding on LI

I was thinking about riding to Montauk this weekend--does anyone know how the road conditions are out there? I'm not sure if the area is still recovering.

Thanks,

The Users…

Submitted by nymultisport on Mon, 11/19/2012 - 9:01pm

Yes, you know who they are. It's you! You're the person constantly bemoaning the lack of rides. You’re the one who immediately signs up when a ride is posted--preserving your choices--then neglects to show up, or for that matter, to notify the leader of your absence in a timely manner. And it's you, constantly criticizing those board members, SIG leaders, web site managers, ride leaders… that terrific 3-5% of the club that busts their butts for you, year after year after year.

Helmet suggestions?

Submitted by MBruckner on Mon, 11/19/2012 - 6:42pm

Hi $40 Bell helmet has gotten well past the point when I remember having bought it, which I understand is a good test of when it's time to buy a new one. I'm a thrifty fella, but I'll be asking for this from Santa. So, any suggestions on what is a good, comfortable helmet? I could care less about weight and would still prefer a value helmet (Even though I won't be the purchaser).
