Is NYCC a non-profit?

Is NYCC considered an official non-profit organization, or some other type of entity?  Tried looking at the bylaws online but wasn't sure.

5 Boro Bike tour for charity

Submitted by TLipshie on Mon, 01/21/2013 - 1:59pm

Registration for the tour opens tomorrow, and I'd like to encourage people to consider doing the ride for charity (I have a particular charity in mind, but I'll get to that). As a charity rider you start at the front which makes the ride much less crowded, safer, easier and actually fun. You also get a free light breakfast and box lunch. The ride itself, ahead of the crowds, is actually an interesting, happy flat ride that makes a very good day-after-the -sig ride.

Cyclist's Core Exercise video

Submitted by dianegoodwin on Mon, 01/21/2013 - 12:33pm

Hello All ...

I found out yesterday that I need to work on my hill climbing - quickly:)

Here is a video I wanted to share for core training:

Interestingly, when I was at Susan Nortelangelo/Lon Haldeman Desert Camp, my roommate (later a RAAM finisher) would get up each morning and do some of these exercises. She finished in 11day, 11hrs

Best,
Diane

Seeking shows to participate in, any tips for me?

Submitted by BMiller on Mon, 01/21/2013 - 11:57am

I am looking for more trade shows or exhibitions in which to participate with my classic urban Italian brand Iride (http://irideusa.com). Lifestyle or bicycle shows. Ideally consumer focused, hopefully near NY.

What can you tell me about? Which do you like? Thanks.

I'm sure people here have witnessed or experienced a similar situation riding on the east coast.  Luv a story with a happy ending, lol.

Biggest climbs in Ulster

Submitted by rfj1862 on Fri, 01/18/2013 - 11:06pm

Hi all,

Missing NYC now...if for no other reason than at least the roads are neatly plowed and salted (and, I've heard, snow-free right now!)

I just gathered together all the biggest climbs in Ulster in one place, complete with GPS.

If any of you decide you want to try any of these, let me know, I'd be happy to join you!
