I was going to be doing an extra-long ride to work with office friends for bike to work day, but that's sort of fallen apart. Any NYCCers want to come along instead?

Rollout from the New York side of the GWB promptly at 6:50 AM or once everyone whose attendance is expected arrives, whichever is shorter. Reply here or directly to me if interested.

I saw one ride posted that uses this bridge, and would love to see more! I know nothing about the surrounding roads, but it sounds like a pretty cool project. The visionary who brought the to fruition, Fred Schaeffer, recently won an award for his work.

Be careful!

It's hard to figure out the light system there -- hard to know when bikes are supposed to cross the Park Drive East either direction -- from our meeting with representatives of the Central Park Precinct at the Club meeting before last it appears that the wiring of the Central park traffic lights is so old and primitive that they cannot correct it easily.
