Ride to Lake Minnewaska is on

Submitted by PJeffery on Sat, 07/13/2013 - 5:58am

Changing weather forecasts show continued improvement, although still borderline with a 30% chance of rain in the afternoon. That's summer for you.

Therefore, I am going forward with our ride to the Gunks assuming a few of you are willing to give it a shot.

2013 All-Class Ride Date?

Submitted by Traci on Fri, 07/12/2013 - 3:47pm

Has a date been set for the 2013 All-Class Ride?  I saw in the Board minutes that there was discussion about whether to change it from its usual 3rd Sunday in August but didn't see anything further.  Just want to make sure I don't plan another ride for that day!

Whoa! Imagine a double paceline. . . .

The two NYCC donated bike rack at the police station at the northern end of "River Road" are sorely needed.  I applaud the initiative to place them there.  Yet on weekends they don't nearly accommodate all the bikes.  Why?  They are operating at about 60% of capacity.

1.  The bike rack on the left is a one sided bike rack and poorly designed at that.  It was not meant for bikes to slot in and stay put from the back side -- the bottom rail to hold the wheel in place is missing.  People try to put bikes in from the back but they don't stay put very well.  Moreover, there are too few slots in this rack.  i.e.  there are several one foot wide gaps in the railing that prevent more bikes from slotting in.

New Joisey Scouting Ride Saturday 7/13

Submitted by J S on Thu, 07/11/2013 - 12:48pm

If anyone wants to hitch along, email me.  Since it's a scouting ride, I can't guarantee spacing of rest stops etc.

NJ Transit, riding starts in Morristown, 55 miles, 4500 ft of climbing.  Train ride is over an hour each way.  If temps go above 90 degrees, it's not happening.

Meet @ corner of 7th Avenue and 31st Street, at NJ Transit entrance.

Hello!!

If you wish to upgrade your Garmin, or to just make an extra money, please contact me. Im interested.

Cheers,

Erika.

I am going up the Monhonk Mountain House/New Paltz for a weekend July 19th and 20th.

Can anyone recommend a 50 to 60 mile loop to me?  I use a Garmin 810 so it would great if someone could send me the route to upload to my Garmin or to a website with a specific route that I could download.

Thank you Dave
