I like to buy my CO2 cartridges in bulk, which saves plenty of money and time.  I just bought what I hope will be something like 5 years worth of cartridges.  I've found that food service companies will sell CO2 cartridges for lower prices than bike parts vendors.

Hey folks, Ciel, the LBS near me, is having an event on Tuesday, December 10th.

Some folks from Giant are going to be talking about women's bike fit. There will also be a presentation on stretching for cyclists. It will be from 6:00-8:00 pm, and there'll be refreshments.

Has anyone done this ride before? I'm worried about getting my bike over there. Any recommendations about what the best way is? I'm flying JetBlue from JFK, and their bike fee is only $50 each way. Can I pack my bike in a cardboard box for JetBlue, or will TSA's goons destroy it? A hardcase will add significantly to the budget.

Or would it be better for me to ship it? The official ride shipping service costs $255 round trip, not including (as far as I can tell) disassembly and assembly. This seems a little steep. I wonder if I could ship it independently?

Oh, and I'm possibly looking for a room share for the 23, 24, and 25th.
