I'm thinking about buying a new road bike and started looking around for something that is I guess is low to mid-range ( $1000 to $1500),  Tiagara to 105 components. Any suggestions for bike shops in Manhattan, preferably downtown below 23rd Street.

Boy, am I ever out of it: I thought ENY was a serious, if fun ride.

Yeah, what a good memento, what a fine souvenir of the ride and experience is this jersey. Not.

Or am I just humorless and completely lacking in understanding what speaks to, what appeals to riders?

Just a quick note to let everybody know that the A20 All Class ride is still on. Due to the high number of sign ups, I had to add a few leaders. As a result, the ride needs to be reviewed and approved by the A-Ride Coordinator before it will show up in the listing again.

Wet roads.  Possible thunderstorms.

Due to the likelihood of rain, tomorrow's Ice Cream Social is being postponed until Tuesday, 8/18.  All other details remain the same (same time, same location, same great ice cream, same great views).  The event page on NYCC's homepage will be updated accordingly.  We hope you can still join us!!

For the last not-quite-two-weeks, there's been some kind of reconstruction project on the greenway between the Boat Basin and Riverside Park South. Thus far it's applied a new surface to the westernmost 1/3rd of the path. As of this weekend, the project had gone as far southward as the path that comes down from the bike/ped underpass near 72nd. So the closures hadn't been too disruptive, because there was always a way around further up in the park, further east of the river.

Been a while since Ive ridden River road on a weekday, but planning on doing a quick ride out of city and through river road  thursday. Has it been closed to construction at all?
