Submitted by eldearth on Mon, 09/21/2015 - 5:05pm

Are there any B18 or A19 groups or riders getting together for the 65 or 100 mile ENY ride?  I am looking for a group to paceline with on the ride this weekend.

9W clear cut...whats going on?

Submitted by GYang on Sun, 09/20/2015 - 3:33pm

Anyone know why they have clear cut the western edge of 9W just south of state line?

It looks pretty horrible, completely changing the character of the road from a nice tree-lined road to looking like a superhighway.

Nasty lip--1 inch or so high between shoulder and car lane on 9W heading south, south of Alpine. Be careful!

Bike Trains

Submitted by JSinclair on Fri, 09/18/2015 - 3:39pm

Is there a way to find out which Metro-North trains are bike trains please?   MTA.info says that "these trains are indicated on the published timetables"  however the Schedules section of MTA.info does not have a code for a bike train. An online method would be ideal if riding somwehere on a whim.

My annual, completely news-less Interbike Report

Submitted by RRosenthal on Fri, 09/18/2015 - 1:32pm

Longtime readers of my Interbike Reports know to not expect a scintilla of actually useful news or observation. I'm delighted to announce I will keep that treasured record in tact this year.  I'm late getting underway this year and may write a report on the plane home tonight but hasten to give you this tantalizing tease as an appetizer.

The greatest and best change this year is there are far fewer tattoos. The greatest and worst lack of change this year is the industry continues to remain disturbingly white. One and only one black at a booth, at least that I saw: that was Garmin. And probably no more than ten, maybe only five attendees.

Here is an interesting quote of his:

"Life is like a bicycle: when one stops pedalling, one falls."
