help with new route
designed a new ride to bear trying to combine some new climbs. i'm not that familiar with the section of 202 between little tor and north liberty. also not that familiar with peekskill train station as i normally ride north to garrison or manitou.
did i draw the connection to peekskill properly and is the 202 section a good one?

Bike MS NYC vs. Tour de Bronx
While I'm certain the scheduling wasn't done with intent, scheduling both events on the same day kinda sucked. I knew a few people riding the Tour de Bronx along with some of our club members. I however was already committed to riding the MS Tour. I'm not certain if any members participated in that ride today. I rode with some buddies and to keep it simple & safe we just did the 30 miles. A nice easy ride around Manhattan island. But I will say this ... at 0630 the wind was howling. Heading south on the West Side Hwy, the wind was directly in your face. Once we headed north on the FDR, we had sun and less wind ... which made for a much more enjoyable experience. But again, we looped around and headed south on the Henry Hudson and the wind once again smacked us.
Fallen leaves and potholes
Noticed a pothole nearly concealed by fallen leaves on the middle section of River Rd (aka Henry Hudson Dr), about 100 ft down the descent just north of the gates near Englewood Cliffs. So, just a reminder to be careful riding over leaves...
#1 danger of our dedicated bike paths
I'm on the West Side Greenway, either running or cycling, numerous times per week year round. That leaves me plenty of time to contemplate its dangers. Although I have seen accidents, I'm surprised there are not more unfortuitous encounters than are apparent given the general low IQ of the public in how to safely use a shared path. Cyclists, runners and walkers all are subject to errors that can have catastrophic consequences.
