Ride Library Kudos
For almost 40 years now my wife and I have enjoyed having a “weekend house” in Columbia County in the Town of Copake. For those of you who aren’t aware, Copake is just the “other side of the mountain” from Sheffield, MA
Consequently, while we rarely ride with NYCC “downstate” on most weekends – once a year the NYCC comes to us in the form of the Berkshire Memorial Day Weekend.
It was this year that I was so looking forward to one of the Saturday All-Class rides to Lakeville. My plan was to join the Gravel Ride version as it would conveniently pass by within a mile or so of our house as it wended its way from MA to CT via NY!
SIG Badges, Leader Swag, Come on man!!!!
I have been following the "SIG Badge" post, and thank you to the one Board member who responded, but I cannot help but feel that there are a few items that have been ignored recently. Obviously the first question - "Are we no longer giving SIG badges to graduates?"
That was never really answered in the post responses. Are we or aren't we? Pretty simple question if you ask me.
The second question I have is...It is almost July 2023 and the leaders from 2022 have heard nothing as far as ordering what they earned by leading rides last year.
Rollers
I have a smart trainer at home. Thinking to get rollers. Any thoughts with regard to how much "features" are needed? I see some offer things like fore-aft movement and bumpers (e.g inside ride e-motion rollers), does this really improve the experience?
thanks
Mike
CRCA Grant's Tomb Crit today
.
I think this might be the first (?) one in a few years with many NE teams traveling to race in NYC streets.

An NYCC note of interest on the list of "recent" champs (cat?). The 2018 top female racer is Masha S. - an A-Siggie from 2012(?) when she joined the club. That graduating class had a star studded list of many gifted riders.
Southampton Weekend October 6-10. Early Bird Pricing through 7/31.
New option! $250, double occupancy.
SIG Badges?
Are we no longer giving SIG badges to graduates?
I am seeing profiles of members who have graduated from recent SIG programs who don't have badges on their profiles.
I personally find seeing badges useful as it is a quick and easy way to gauge the experience/skill level of the rider.
What's going on here?
Thanks,
Lead time for Metro-North train requests?
How far in advance should train requests be submitted? I'm looking for this on the submit a ride info and not finding it ...
Thanks,

Ride to the Movies! (The Engine Inside)

Our friends at the New York Bicycle Film Festival have organized the NYC premiere screening of The Engine Inside, a beautiful and uplifting film that takes us inside the bike lives of six very different people to understand what biking means to them, and could mean for each of us. A collaboration of Shimano and Anthill Films, with Phil Liggett as narrator! Check out the trailer and description below:
Survey and Pilot re Motorized Bikes and Scooters on Car-Free Paths in the Parks System
Parks Department has launched today a pilot program allowing otherwise street-legal motorized bikes and scooters to use drives, greenways, and bike paths within the New York City parks System. In connection with the pilot, there is a survey, linked here, which I recommend you complete: https://forms.office.com/pages/responsepage.aspx?id=x2_1MoFfIk6pWxXaZlE7...
Note that the Hudson River bike path south of 59th Street is not part of the NYC Parks system, so this pilot does not apply to that part of the path.
Race schedules in ny and nj
Can anyone recommend a website with upcoming races in the ny/nj area?
