storm king and mine road

Submitted by mgeller1 on Mon, 04/22/2019 - 6:59am

Totally reccomend giving this a ride. storm king is close to cleaned up and not yet open to cars. i rode friday and was treated to deer, foxes and eagles. only caveat is the last 1/10 of a mile coming out the road is being paved but there's enough good section to get through. Mine Road is also open.

Not sure when Storm King officially opens, it should be soon I imagine.

A simple solution for those displeased with the board's operations

2 simple steps:

  1. Step away from the keyboard
  2. Get involved in actual work to improve the club

The best way to learn about how the board operations, and (more importantly to) have a real voice in shaping it, is to run for a seat, volunteer in some other meaningful way, or do something constructive towards the betterment of the club!

The C SIG is postponing it's ride to Sunday

Submitted by PHofherr on Fri, 04/19/2019 - 5:49pm

Due to weather conditions forecast for tomorrow, the C SIG will postpone it's ride to Sunday. You should receive an email to that effect from your group leader but check to see if there's a time change.

We will make the call on Sunday to go or not to go and we will post it here.

You might want to wear a light rain jacket on Sunday just in case.

B SIG is cancelled for this weekend

Submitted by FLeffel on Fri, 04/19/2019 - 1:05pm

Mother nature is not cooperating, so we are cancelling this weekend.

Please note that we are pushing the schedule back one week, so that the Armonk/Orchards ride will be next Saturday, the century will be on May 4th and the graduation ride will be on May 11.

The Rockland County Legislature unanimously approved a resolution to support a bike path bypass at the Route 6 traffic circle in Harriman State Park. Thank you, Legislator Alden Wolfe, for proposing and supporting the resolution. Let's keep up the pressure on NY State DOT to approve the project!
