SIG Preview Ride Ratings?
I'm wondering if there might be some clarifications be made available on some of the pre-SIG ride listings?
1) We have an apparent A-Sig (or is it all-level?) listings -- aka WUSS rides. With a 16mph indicator. Pretty relaxed description and requirement expectation
2) Then there's the DSig listings (aka WURD).. These increase the speed (on dirt and gravel no less) by 3-4mph, and asks for pre-existing pacelining skills (thru the woods?). I am curious and interested in perhaps exploring gravel/dirt type of rides, but are NYCCs' postings all only going to be for A-level+ riders only?

Better than Westchester….
….Parkway, that is.
I’m a native New Yorker and decades-long member of the NYCC. Now, in retirement, I’ve had the opportunity to follow the Dodgers and spend at least part of each year in Los Angeles, albeit each time I return here to “The City” I know I’ve come home.
That said, sometimes it takes spending time 3000 miles from home to remind you of the treasures you have in your own backyard.
For those unfamiliar with Los Angeles, there’s a community adjacent to LAX airport known as Westchester. It’s a mixed community of commercial and residential uses.
Running along the northern perimeter of LAX in that area there is a smooth, nearly straight boulevard type road known as Westchester Parkway.
WUSS Rides?
I see some posted, but you can't join apparently because you get an alert that you have to already be signed up for a SIG, which isn't open for registration until after the rides?
Altercation this past Sunday
I noticed an altercation between a cyclist and a couple of BMW's on the corner of 9W and Van Nostrand at around 1240 this Sunday (1/26).
Anyone know what happened?
Thomas Cole/Hudson River Museum ride postponed to Sunday
Saturday's weather forecast looks awful.
The Sunday ride listing will be up a little later.
Amy Klobuchar once cycled 145 miles in one day
By coincidence that's also just a bit longer than my longest ride(also in the Midwest!) June 8, 1985 Saugus, Mich to Chicago 140 miles. She was much younger than I.
Come join me for a virtual ride this Saturday, Jan 18, 2020
It's going to be really cold Saturday morning, and snowing in the afternoon. If you want to ride, but don't want to deal with the weather, come join me for a Zwift ride. There are 3 rides posted they all start at 9am.
See you there.
