4154' gain, difficulty rating: 94 map on website Website access for cue sheet, notes, Google map and GPS: http://bicycling.trimbleoutdoors.com/ViewTrip.aspx?tripId=504367 From Katonah, NY Metro North Rail station, accessible by train from New York City. 54 miles of beautiful country roads covering Yorktown Heights, Granite Springs, Somers, Titicus, Croton Falls, and North Salem. This ride begins and ends at the Metro North rail station in Katonah, NY on the southbound side of the tracks. If arriving by car, park in the Woods Bridge Commuter Parking lot, which is approximately 1/4 mile from the station. See the paragraph for Wood Bridge Parking "point of interest" below for details. If you are not meeting anyone at the station, you can begin the ride by turning left out of the parking lot, then turn left on Route 35 (no need to backtrack to the station). Visit the Westchester Cycle Club website at www.westchestercycleclub.org Mile 27.9: Food stop Kingsley Deli. To continue after the deli, turn left and backtrack 0.2 miles on June Road to Starr Lea. End of ride: If you cross over the tracks the downtown area of Katonah is delightful, with many food/drink/rest room alternatives. To return to the Woods Bridge parking area at the end of the ride stay on Jay St, cross over the tracks, it becomes Parkway. Turn right on Bedford Road, it becomes Woods Bridge Road. The parking area is on your left. Click on the "Print Trip" link under "Trip Tools" in the right hand column to format this page for printing. A note re elevation data for riders who use it. Different mapping websites use different elevation source data, and the sampling point frequency varies across GPS units. As a result, the "total elevation gain" statistic can vary widely from site to site and unit to unit. Garmin units and the GarminConnect site indicate a significantly higher total elevation gain for this ride than does this Bicycling/Trimble site.
