4872'gain, difficulty rating: 114 map on website Access to this site, cue sheet, map, notes and GPS at: http://bicycling.trimbleoutdoors.com/ViewTrip.aspx?tripId=500966 This ride begins and ends at the Metro North rail station in Scarsdale, NY on the northbound side of the tracks. If arriving by car, park in one of the two parking areas, depending on weekdays/weekends. See the paragraph for Station Parking "point of interest" below for important details. Visit the Westchester Cycle Club website at www.westchestercycleclub.org Mile 3.7: The right turn on Water is after you pass the train station on your left. Continue on Ferris, keeping the bus terminal on your right (it just feels like you must have missed the turn). Just after the bus terminal make the right on Water. From Mile 3 to Mile 5 it is a bit of tough urban slogging, but don't lose faith, this 2 mile segment is over before you know it, and beautiful riding awaits. Mile 34.1: Food stop at William Nicolas Gourmet Deli. See the photo for information. No restroom. Other options are to continue on Katonah Ave. another block to the Katonah Restaurant, which has outdoor table service and restrooms. Or go a block and a half past the Katonah Restaurant to the Blue Dolphin Diner. (If you go to the diner, backtrack to Jay St. and turn right going across the train tracks to continue the ride). End of ride: See map for parking areas. Starbucks in the station. Lange's Deli is a block away (on Spencer Place). Restrooms in both. Zachy's is an excellent wine store, directly across the street from the Scarsdale station. Click on the "Print Trip" link under "Trip Tools" in the right hand column to format this page for printing. You can send the track to an iPhone, GPS device, or your computer by clicking on the appropriate link in the "Send This Trip To" section in the right hand column. A note re elevation data for riders who use it. Different mapping websites use different elevation source data, and the sampling point frequency varies across GPS units. As a result, the "total elevation gain" statistic can vary widely from site to site and unit to unit. Garmin units and the GarminConnect site indicate a significantly higher total elevation gain for this ride than does this Bicycling/Trimble site. We suggest you use the elevation data only to compare rides on the same site with data gathered the same way. Go out and ride! Route courtesy of Westchester Cycle Club.
