Submitted by DMC on Tue, 11/05/2013 - 7:49am

Can anyone say what the status of the south end of the park (post-marathon) is?

Many thanks in advance,

David (Carr)

A local Cat 3 racer got into a crash this past weekend while 9W on a team training ride.  Even if you don't know him I'm sure you can empathize.

Fundraiser for Mark P

To those who know Mark Petimezas and those who don't but can find it in their heart to help out:

Can it be done and ridden on a trainer without adjusting the derailer?  Will the chain get thrown if shifting too far to either end of the spectrum?

Thanks.

These saddles are used by a lot of long distance and brevet riders.  Great price ($99 in any color or finish); normally $150-199.

Compares favorably to Brooks (their cutout) models, and to RIVET Cycle Works.

Happy shopping.

Dutchess County Cycling Clubs

Submitted by vinlaw on Mon, 11/04/2013 - 10:59am

My father-in-law, aged 71, has spent the last few months cycling for exercise and has come to really enjoy it and now he wants to try some group rides. Does anybody know of a club in northern Dutchess, Rhinebeck/Red Hook/Tivoli area, that may be able to accomodate him. I've been out with him a few times and he can handle his bike well and would be a lower C paced rider.

Thanks.

Is it possible to ride to this? Overheard some people discussing this as a route detour.  Where does one veer off 9w to get to this?

Strong Recommendation for a Cycling Trip in England

Submitted by FLeffel on Sun, 11/03/2013 - 3:09pm

For anyone interested in a cycling trip to England, or just looking for a cycling trip to a slightly less travelled area, I heartily recommend a trip my wife and I took this summer with the Cycling Camp of San Deigo (“CCSD”) to England’s Peaks District.

I'm Voting for Gerry Ross

Submitted by FLeffel on Fri, 11/01/2013 - 6:05pm

I am casting my vote for Gerry Ross for President.  Here’s why.

I have known both Neile and Gerry for many years. I’ve ridden at least a couple of dozen rides with each. I’ve also worked with both of them as ride leaders in the B SIG.

They are both are energetic, enthusiastic contributors to the club, and have been for many years.

I like both of them and consider both of them good friends.
