NYC Century Packet Pickup

Submitted by ty111 on Wed, 08/30/2017 - 10:13am

Does anyone know where you can pick up your event packet BEFORE the date of ride? In the past I have gone to Bicycle Habitat, but there is no info on TA website and, of course, they don't answer phone.

Thanks

The Westchester Cycle club just linked their que sheets to Ride with GPS. How it works if you are a member you get an invite click on it and once appoved by the administrator you have all the clubs ques sheets. It would be nice if NYCC did the same.

Big Thank You to Tenefly PD and Bicycle Workshop

Submitted by GRoss on Sat, 08/26/2017 - 5:18pm

We had a crash on our Cheetah B-SIG reunion ride today. One of our number, Yanjuin (Y.J.) Chen went down at the top of E. Clinton. I did not see the crash because I was showing off getting to the bottom really fast, just behind another rider. When no one else appeared in a couple minutes we called and found out about the crash. I was told she hit a rock.

When we got back to the top, the Tenafly PD was already directing traffic away from the situs of the crash and helping our injured colleague, who appeared mainly to have  lots of road rash; but she did hit her head and was a little woozy for a few minutes so we all thought it was wise to have her checked at Englewood Hospital.  Officer Pat BauMuller couldn't have been nicer or more helpful.

I'm scheduled to marshal but I would like to race instead! Please let me know if you would like to marshal on my behalf - I would be happy to compensate you for your time. You also get the benefit of watching and supporting the NYCC racing team!

UPDATE: A Good home was found. Sorry to anyone that didn't get in first.

Hi all,

Unfortunately due to an injury that will see me miss this years GFNJ in Morristown, I have a ticket that is available to be transferred. I will not charge for the ticket, as I'd just prefer to see someone else be able to have some fun from the event. There is however a transfer fee chargeable to GFNJ of $40 up until 26th August or $50 afterwards, you can select any of the route distances, so not limited to the original one.

Unruly riders, commercial posts on the message board, ENY, and, and and. . . .

We are setting up several committees to solve the world’s problems.  Well, maybe not all of them. . . .

We’ll be reviewing the Ride Leadership Guidelines with an eye toward refreshing and updating.  Also, we’re going to take a look at some basic fundamental Rider Participant Guidelines.  Having ride participants and ride leaders on the same page – having a good idea what to expect – should be helpful, right?

I promise one thing; these guidelines won’t be perfect.  I’ve been around long enough to know we never get anything perfect.  But a wise philosopher once said, “Perfection is the enemy of very good”.  I predict with confidence the guidelines will be very very good.
