Two things you missed in the Times: Bananas and Charlie Komanoff
Bananas vs. Sports Drinks? Bananas Win in Study:

Charlie Komanoff, former NYCC member, possibly a past meeting speaker, and, very likely, one of the worlld's most effective, most productive, most important bike advocates, is cited in this op-ed about the failure of Albany to address congestion pricing. (...Not that that's news about that collection of feckless souls that is our State Executive, Assembly and Senate.)

In search of area knowledge . . .
Our good friend, Shep Grinker of Bicycle Workshop in Tenafly (remember the watermelon at ENY? Mmm!), has invited us to participate in a crowdsourced effort to inventory road conditions and similar riding considerations for an area that extends roughly from Grandview-on-Hudson to Rockland Lake and west to almost West Nyack. The basic idea is that you drop a pin along a stretch of road you know, which opens a dialog box in which you can identify road conditions and make useful comments about what riders can expect to find there. It's actually kinda cool.
Shep and the organizers would be grateful for any help you can lend to the effort. The link to the survey is:

Titanium Bike Recommendation
My very good friend is looking to but a Titanium bike. He is leaning towards MOOTS. What is your view on Moots and/or any other brand you would recommend and any dealer in the city/Brooklyn who would have a good selection of titanium bikes in stock. Thank you very much.
Laps around Central Park
Hi,
Does anyone who lives around Central Park want to do some early morning laps with me? I am in the C-sig (group 1) but I don't expect to ride in a group for these laps. I just need some motivation to show up at Central Park at 5:30/6. Let's watch the sunrise together.

Hudson Valley Rail Trail in process of being extended west towards New Paltz
Although the ultimate goal is to link up with the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail in New Paltz, construction is underway from Tony Williams Park, where it now ends after crossing the Hudson on the High Bridge, to Rt 299 at South and Elting.
Special Easter. Sunday Menu at MARKETon 9W
As many of you may have heard; there are large frog populations in the ponds/water spots along 9W recently. That sound is not crickets.
So..along with welched Rabbit on French Baguette, Sunday’s menu will also feature Sautéed Frog Legs in white wine.
Rumor has it that there will also be Easter eggs in the area outside, with free membership for the soon to open market in Piermont. It is going to be a private eating establishment, with all-u-can eat buffet..hence the need to exclude cyclists.
The uphill to the police station(and bathrooms) will be re-graded next week to a 3% contiguous grade; so we can all equal Froom’s uphill pace(when he is not doing drugs)
All rides next weekend are cancelled due to expected snowstorm.
