New GWB Bike Ramp taking shape
I happened to drive up the GWB ramp from the Henry Hudson Parkway twice this weekend. The constructions of the new bike ramp on the north side has started. I'm sorry, no pictures. Hard to take those while driving.
The link has some info on how the GWB walkways will change by 2025.
Social Sunday - June 16 - CANCELLED
Let's try again on July 14 when we ride to City Island.
Safe commuter ride between Newark and GW bridge?
Hi all--
Could anyone suggest a ride between Newark, NJ and the GW Bridge? I'm looking for a safe, but efficient, ride that could possibly be done in the dark (with proper reflector gear and front and back lights, of course!). I looked in the Ride Library, but get the sense that we only keep the fun rides there. :) Whereas this one is more about moving quickly from point A to B with minimum fuss and no other perks.
Thanks kindly for any help or suggestions.

NYC Arts Segment on Bike Exhibit at NYC Museum
Last evening's episode of NYC Arts on PBS included a segment about the "Cycling in the City" exhibit at the Museum of the City of New York. As noted in an earlier post, an original NYCC jersey is on display in the exhibit. The jersey makes a brief appearance in full focus on the PBS show (it can also be seen in the background throughout the segment).
If you're in a rush jump to timestamp 8:03 to see the jersey up close.

Parkway Bridge Heights
I'm driving up to Columbia County this weekend with my bike on a roof rack ontop of a mini-van. I believe bike seat is about 9' off the ground which I know is too high for some bridges in the New York parkway system (Northern State on long island for instance).
I've googled and googled and have not been able to find any source of information for bridge clearance (shocking, i know). Does anyone know of an authoritative source?
I'm planning on driving up the henry hudson to the sawmill to the taconic. Does anyone know the bridge heights on that route?
Thanks,
Josh
Anyone interested in going to Bear Mtn this Saturday?
I'm driving up to Bear Mountain this Saturday, so I can practice riding up and riding down. I'm planning on leaving my place in the NW Bronx (Riverdale) no later than 7am.
I plan on leaving Bear around 11am and driving to the 9W Market to help with the clean up.
I have room to take one person with me. You would just need to get up to the Riverdale section of the Bronx for 7am. You can ride your own game once we get to the mountain, you will just need to meet me for the drive back to the city.
I'm hoping to get one or two climbs in during the 3 hours I've alloted. I'm a slow climber.
If your interested please send me an email.
This offer is good until 9pm on Friday, June 14th.
