Building Back Up Post Surgery (Training Rides)
Hi All,
I am almost two years post ankle surgery, and am looking to get back to my 70/80+ mile rides (+ acclimated to the heat). Anyone in a similar situation or looking to build to longer rides to start?
I am able to do a few rides from now until August 9th and then again after Labor Day.
Also my riding profile also still says riding style: A, at this point I would classify myself as a C.
Cheers,
K
New restrictions on reserving group bike passage in August
I've just been informed that more infrastructure work on the Hudson line will once again restrict passage above Croton Harmon.
Thus we cannot reserve trains between August 10th and 25th on the Hudson line above Croton Harmon.
Metro North hopes to have work completed by the latter date.
Sound Practice? Or Old Married Person’s Tale?
My helmet is getting on in years (as am I). I’ve often heard that a helmet in otherwise good condition should be junked after five years, and I have disposed of a bunch for that reason. But is it true? Or is this marketing (for new helmet purchases) dressed up as lore? Comments welcome, especially those more definitive than “I’ve heard that too!”

Morph collapsible helmet
Pop up ad on my FB feed. I’ve been waiting for a helmet that fits in my bag to have at the ready for Citibike rides. Does anyone know if they really work? How effective are they?

Does anyone have any cue sheets/directions for a ride from Wassaic Train Station to Millerton area
-- trying to escape some of the heat in NYC

The ultimate bike ride
Yes, there is a long climb, but the high speed descent is glorious.
