Hoping you can help out with this one.

	A teammate and friend was hit by a car this morning (5:10am sat 6/29/13) while riding to Prospect Park. Not nudged, not bumped, but hit from behind at a high speed. The back of his bike crumpled and he flew up over the hood and roof and down onto the pavement behind the car.

	The driver fled and no witnesses stepped forward at that time.

My bike's RIGHT shifter just broke. Does anyone has an extra for sale? 

I have a Shimano Tiagra and  can go with either Tiagra or 105. I guess Ultegra would work too but I will have to call the bike shop in my neighbourhood to confirm.

Gone (thank God!) are the cicadas, but in the middle of RR, there's a virtual parade of centipedes crossing the road to the west side.  It's adorable!  It's also a test of skills trying to avoid mashing them.  I assume in a couple weeks or so we'll see them in the form of beautiful butterflies. (Though I'm sure someone will correct me...)

Due to a last cancellation by my ride leader for tomorrow, I'm going to ride to Piermont tomorrow a.m. For those who are un-, semi- or flexibly employed (or if you just want a vacation day), join starting at 750 from the BK Bridge or 9 at the GWB for a ride to Piermont. Plan on River Road up and 501 back.

I have to ride up to Andover NJ and need to figure out a good route. Anyone have any experience with routes from GWB to the Andover / Sparta / Newton area ??
