Recommendation for a good mini-pump?
Can anyone recommend a good mini-pump? Something that has a little stub that flips out so that I can hold it with my toe while I'm pumping along with a short bit of tubing, as opposed to the mini-pumps which attach directly to the wheel and require awkward one-handed pumping while holding the other end with the other hand. Also a gauge would be nice.
I'm not looking for the lightest mini-pump, but reasonably light is nice. Presta valve, although some method of adapting to schrader would be handy. Also I don't want something cheap that will break after a year - I'd like this pump to last a long time.

Bike Fitting
Looking for a bike fit shop. Any recommendations?
Cyclocross
Is anyone in the club experienced in cyclocross racing? Are the options around NYC very limited? A video I saw on YouTube was on Staten Island and showed very little running? I would like try a local race, but need info on what kind of bike I might use, as I don’t think my road bike is appropriate. What kind of shoes? I would favor a race that had more real running, than just hopping up a few steps.

Today's B18 Newcomer Ride is "On"
The weather report has improved. No thunderstorms until afternoon, and then only a 20% chance early afternoon. So, only my cue sheet to worry about. Don't worry, I've always gotten home before dark ;-)
See you soon.

Nice little eatery in West Nyack - Strawtown Cafe
Passing through West Nyack today, we stopped at the Strawtown Cafe. It is on Strawtown Rd, just before the turn on to SR 59 to get to Western Highway (or just after the turn off of, depending on which direction you are headed). That's the intersection where Sickletown goes off one way and Strawtown goes the other.
Good solid food, very nice owner, would like to encourage more cyclists (keeps meaning to put up the bike rack!), super friendly, and good prices. The outdoor seating was nicely shaded. Would be a lovely spot for lunch on a club ride, as she could easily handle 10-12 cyclists at a time. More, I'm sure, with some advance notice.
