A21 "Climbs of Piermont/Nyack" added for Saturday at 8:30. May take a few hours for it to appear on the ride list, so check back if you don't see it. Lot's of climbing, stay local and be home around noon!

Hurdles on Putnam Trail still include review from NYS Dept of Environmental Conservation and the NYC Planning Board, but CB#8 approval of the VCP20 Master Plan is a huge win for the residents of Riverdale, not just cyclists.

Need advice and dr/pt recommendation for ischial bursitis/swelling

Submitted by giro on Wed, 05/14/2014 - 8:26pm

After long rides (80+ miles), get tennis-ball sized swelling around my sit bone area. Get smaller swelling even after short rides now too.

Super-padded seat helps as does gulping down anti-inflammatories (ibuprofen).

Googling this, it seems like ischial bursitis. Anybody have a cycling doc/pt they can recommend to confirm and offer solutions?

Any suggestions from anybody who's had similar issues?

You're going to love this hilarious take on Alec Baldwin's arrest yesterday--he was riding the wrong way on a NYC street. Thanks to Peter Meitzler for bringing this to light.
