Sunday Nanuet Canceled

Submitted by JHerzfeld on Fri, 07/31/2015 - 11:05am

Call it an over-abundance of caution, but given the heat forecast, the Nanuet ride is canceled. No doubt some of you can handle it, however, experience at doing this route at high temps with others has proven that many, even most, start out with confidence, end up wilting, and drop. There's a very good chance that it could turn out to be no fun at all, or worse, in such cases.

Time permitting, the ride may be re-listed later in the summer, when the weather could be more hospitable.

Calling ALL NYCC cyclists! Come one, come all... A riders, B riders, C riders! Join us for a totally "classless" skills session. Improve your handing skills... practice navigating the GWB hairpin turn... have a go at "bunny hopping"... take part in flat changing clinic... join a "race" where the slowest rider wins... and much, much more! It will be a fun and informative morning.

NYCC Ambassador Page

Submitted by CWaaser on Thu, 07/30/2015 - 4:08pm

Thought you'd all like to see what the NYCC Ambassador Page on RWGPS looks like.  We'll probably add one or two more routes.  We wanted to show a variety of locations, distances and types of rides. If you click on a route, hover your cursor over the links to see sections of the map highlighted.

Now if you're planning to travel to another part of the country, look on RWGPS for an Ambassador in that location.  You're likely to find some nice routes.

Morning laps in Prospect Park?

Submitted by AWeaver on Wed, 07/29/2015 - 11:55am

I'm a new member and am looking for some folks to do morning laps with once or twice a week in Prospect Park. Right now I'm only seeing A laps on the schedule. I've done some pacelining before and a few days of track racing, and would probably call my pace a B17 or higher in the park. Happy to ride slower or try a bit faster as well.

Round Trip to Bear Mountain

Submitted by johnvic on Tue, 07/28/2015 - 10:50am

I was thinking of doing a ride to Bear Mountain and back. I could take the B-Sig Cold Spring route up to Bear Mountain and then 9W back. I'd prefer to have a not so hilly a return.

Any good suggestions?

Thanks!
