Possible B17/18 posting for Christmas Eve: would you come?
I'm thinking of posting a B17/18 ride for December 24, which'd start moderately early-morning and go into the afternoon. Figure on a 45-50 mile total distance.
MNR and LIRR trains don't allow bikes on Christmas Eve, all day, and I don't want to go to Jersey. So I'm thinking along the lines of Grant's Tomb rollout, going up into Westchester and climbing some hills there, then heading back south and finishing out the ride at the Woodlawn 4 train station.
We shouldn't count on lunch spots being open, either, so it'll be a BYOL affair.
Gran Fondo NJ - Team NYCC
Dear NYCC Members,
I hope that you are well and enjoying a healthy and joyful holiday season.
I am forming an NYCC team for Gran Fondo NJ, which will be held on September 11, 2016.
I have chosen to create "Team NYCC" now, because not only do registration prices go up on January 1, 2016, the team discount also drops on that date from 20% to 15% (and will continue to drop by 5% every 3 months thereafter). You must register as a member of "Team NYCC" to receive the team discounted registration price.
Just Added to Ride Board... Wednesday Morning Henry Hudson Drive: Late Start - 8:30 AM

ice skating wednesdays
wednesday ice skating cross training is back. it's free if you have your own skates; else, pricing is here. just meet on the ice at 8am, bryant park. no sign up, no rsvp. you make your own game on/off call. i will not be posting any game on/off call on the message board. basically, if it's raining, game off. ice, snow, freezing temps is game on. see you on the ice.
Funny line (not mine).
What fear do I have about death? That my wife will sell my bicycles for what I told her they cost.
You know this isn't my line: I'm not married.

Driver was able to pull over to the side of the road after this 'accident'

How do I return a driver's license that was dropped in front of my building?
Perhaps a casulty of Santacon. My doorman found it on the sidewalk.
It is a CT license. Nothing comes up on a Google search that leads to the name.
If I cannot notify her I suppose the only thing to do is to mail it to her at her home address on the license. But I'm sure she is concerned and probably would want it back.
Green Pass - 12/10/15 remarks before the Port Authority on GWB
Currently a half-a-million bicycle trips are made across the GWB each year. If the Port Authority accorded those trips the same subsidies as Green Pass vehicles, it would total $2.9 million. Actually, two Green Pass trips are needed offset a regular car’s emissions, whereas one bike trip directly offsets one car. So we could say that current bicycle travel on the GWB annually offsets $5.8 million worth of CO2 emissions."
